Beaches in the direct surroundings as Riva degli Angeli ('coast of Angels') and the beach of nature reserve Porto Selvaggio, recently declared one of the most beautiful beaches of Italy, are highly recommanded.
Discover Gallipoli, a by origin Greek town (Kalè Polis: the beautiful town). Gallipoli is divided in two parts; the 'old' and the'new' part. The old part, situated on an island with it's narrow, winding characteristic alleys is surrounded by a town wall, but in some places leaves space to an intimate beach.
Built on the site of the ancient walls is a very panoramic road that begins and ends at the Castle of Gallipoli.

Be overwhelmed by the sight of the church of Santa Croce and the Palace. Admire the Piazza Duomo. Walk along the ancient city ports, through the monumental streets, look at the Baroque churches and the Castle of
Carlo V. Have a break in the city park or on one of the many, many terraces.

Also discover Santa Catarina and Santa Maria al Bagno, two stylish sea side places. See Muro Lecesse with it's Messapic centre, Santa Cesarea Terme with her fascinating Spa.
Visit Castro with his famous caves of Zinzulusa, Santa Maria de Leuca where the two seas of the Salentine peninsula come together, the architecture of the 'Masseria's', and much, much more!
